Erling Haaland is making a name for himself these days. He started his career at Manchester City incredibly well with 10 goals in six Premier League games so far.
The star forward has been spoken by Premier League fans around the world since the season began. Now she has other reasons to talk about Haaland after her new documentary is released by Viaplay.
The title of the documentary focuses on ‘Haaland: The Election’ and his decision regarding the summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
Naturally, there were questions as to why he had chosen Manchester City. Many giant clubs, including Real Madrid, were interested in the Norwegian.
What was said?
“How can you say no to a club like Real Madrid,” a journalist told City star’s father, Alf Inge Haaland. she asked.
“Good question,” Haaland answered after a few moments of silence. “You really can’t say no.
“We had some criteria in mind – who needed #9? Manchester City was a 10/10 option. Real Madrid was just 5/10 or 6/10 due to Karim Benzema’s current form.
“And we’re like, ‘Aren’t they going to sign Kylian Mbappe?’ We were thinking.”
It’s clear that Haaland has been thinking long and hard about the transfer, but there is an obvious attraction to joining Real Madrid.
But for now, Manchester City was the right club at the right time.
